I hope you all have had an inspired new year! I certainly have… I have been on a mission this last year to be in control of my life and live for what matters. I turned 30, so that may have had something to do with it, but I just had an urgency to have a more purposeful and fulfilling life.
I’ve always been the kind of person to reflect on things and think about how I can do better. I love the new year because it gives me the perfect opportunity to do just that and have a fresh start.
Most years I reflect, write some new goals down, and cheer myself on as I achieve maybe 3/5 of them. I usually just go to target and buy that generic planner that seems appropriate for me and call it good. I get frustrated right away because I can’t stay organized and spend more time strategizing about it than I ever spend being productive.
This year, I wanted to go a little deeper than that. I discovered a planner called the DAY DESIGNER . It does so much more than simply design your day… It helps you develop your vision for what is important to you and what you hope to achieve. It aligns what you value and dream of and shows you the steps to accomplish those things. I can’t say enough great things about this planner.
As I looked over my notes, I recognized that my values and hopes were centered around my home life. Everything that I want to invest my time and energy into is essentially home related. This makes a lot of sense since I graduated college with a degree in Human Environmental Sciences which involves these four domains… the study of Family, Wellness, Design, and Food- basically homemaking…
Since these are my strengths and passions I’ve decided to make this the clear vision for my blog. I began blogging to document my life and family so this direction will hopefully align perfectly with that. My main purpose for the blog will be to share my journey and endeavors of womanhood, the art of being a woman… I hope you will join me in celebrating who we are and the experience along the way!
I am also doing a GIVAWAY!!! My best friend had bought me a day designer without knowing that I had already purchased one myself. So I had an extra one to give you a chance to try it out yourselves! All you need to do to enter is follow or like me on all of my social media outlets listed at the top right of this blog, tell a friend about my blog, and then comment on this post to let me know that you entered. I will let you all know the winner this weekend:)
Stay tuned, later in the week I will share how we are setting goals as a family, and my kiddos super cute goals! I will also start a series about getting back to basics at home.
Thanks for reading and have a wonderful day and new year!

6 days agoby obrienoutpostSuch a lover this one. A heart as big as they come. I told the kids we needed to start letting the kitten explore the territory outside our home a bit more this week and he couldn't bare the thought of losing her so he followed her around outside for ever making sure she was safe. Mr. Protective over here... Our quote this week was "do something everyday that scares you" by Eleanor Roosevelt. It's been interesting to see each day the things we go out on a limb for. #livingforthemost
